Hello,

Educators!

Hi, I'm Robin

I went to school for a long time. My B.S. is in Child Development, my M.A. is in Rehabilitation Counseling, and my Ph.D. is in Counselor Education. Can you tell that I love to learn and I love to help people?

I have worked in a variety of settings over the years. I had a passion for hospitalized children when I worked in a pediatric setting. I also loved being a counselor in a university setting. But the bulk of my career was spent being a school counselor.

Why do I do it?

My mission is to help overwhelmed home educators find moments of calm by showing them tips, tools, and resources so they can have a better quality of life too.

How did I get here?

My career in education started out great……

The first half was amazing! I loved going to work every day. I loved it so much I couldn’t believe I was actually getting paid to do it.

It WAS great……

…..until it wasn’t! YIKES!

Things kept getting harder and harder and harder. Many tasks were being added yet nothing was being taken away. The number of students with needs was increasing. The severity of their needs were intense. Plus, I was at the largest elementary school in our system with no help.

IT. WAS. TOO. MUCH.

I ended up being a stressed, overwhelmed educator, just like you, who struggled.

The difference was that I was in a school setting and you are in a home setting. After talking to some of my home educator friends, we realized that we had shared experiences about our stress and overwhelm.

My stress was so bad it is what I would call debilitating. My home educator friends stress and overwhelm were off of the charts too.

I was desperate. I wanted, I needed, to have moments of calm and serenity.

I had to get better!

I found a better way...

I had to find ways to help myself.

And I did!

That’s where I come in…

Now, I’m on a mission to help overwhelmed home educators by providing tools, and resources so they can get help and feel calmer too.
